My Story: Making memories, one frame at a time
My name is Joe Briol, and I am a photographer living in the Twin Cities area, just east of St. Paul, MN.
You could say that photography is in my DNA. My grandfather, Henry A. Briol, ran a successful photo studio in central Minnesota from about 1904 - 1946. His daughter, Ethel, (my aunt) was a photographer and colorist during WW II.
So, in a way, I guess I was almost pre-destined to enter into this field.
I have been practicing photography for several years, and the galleries here represent some of my favorite subjects to photograph. My specialties include photos of nature (landscapes and plants), animals (wildlife, birds, and pets), and candids, as well as some portraiture.
There's nothing I'd rather do than grab my camera and head out to see what kind of memories I can capture. I encourage you to visit my galleries, and if there's something you like, I'd love to hear from you.

My Commitment to Nonprofits
In addition to photography, I'm also an avid volunteer.
For the past several years I have found a way to blend those two interests to form a real "sweet spot" photo niche for myself. I take photos for animal rescues to bring more attention to their adoptable dogs.
Professional photos that really help bring out an animal's personality are a big catalyst in helping them get adopted. I'm proud to say that my work has helped hundreds of animals catch the eye of their potential adopters.
I also take pictures for other nonprofits to raise awareness for their organizations. On average I volunteer over 300 hours of photo time each year to help out different causes, and I love every minute of it!
The best compliment I can receive is having someone say that my images helped connect them with their new animal companion or that they helped someone discover a new favorite charity.
